During our Skill Development sessions the past two days, we have devoted time to improving our ability to beat defenders with the dribble. Yesterday, I posted a video supplement to the drills the players have been using to help them understand and develop the footwork and other important aspects of beating the defenders from the "triple threat" position.
Today, the video clips show live examples of players executing sound techniques driving to the basket from the "live dribble" when approaching a defender and when being pressured in the back court. A good offensive players needs to be able to accelerate past the defender with either hand, while staying in a low and explosive stance, and he needs to be able to aggressively change directions when the defender stops them on the first or second move.
