Eagles Fall to Indiana's Eastside

Augusta's Austin Crown
After a furious comeback, the Augusta Eagles fell short in Wednesday's NCHBC national tournament "Sweet Sixteen" match up with the Eastside Golden Eagles (IN), losing 83-76 in a thrilling contest.  After being eliminated from championship contention by Indiana's state champion and NCHBC Midwest Regional runner up, Augusta now moves into the "5A Consolation Bracket."  After an off day Thursday, the Eagles will face the FEAST Patriots from San Antonio, Texas, Friday at 6:30 PM (CT).

During Wednesday's game, Eastside took a commanding 42-25 lead just before halftime.  Guard Taylor Lehman and center Michaiah Murray led the way during the early push.  But Augusta came roaring back, scoring 29 third quarter points and taking a 56-55 lead into the game's final period.  After Eastside took a 4 point lead, Augusta tied the game at 67.  But Murray was too much for Augusta, and the Golden Eagles secured the victory with key baskets late.

Austin Crown led Augusta with 38 points.  And Matt Miller added 24, all in the second half.  Enjoy the highlights of the Augusta Eagles in action against the Eastside Golden Eagles.
