The Summer Begins

The "off season" is a time for players to improve individually, and for coaches to integrate new players into a system.  Many of Augusta's players have used the spring months to improve by practicing fundamental skills in individual and group settings.  The AAU circuit and the ABR Spring League also provided players with the opportunity to compete and test their progress leading into the summer.

June is a month for high school teams to practice and compete in summer games and leagues.  Five area teams (Evans, Laney, Josey, Butler, and the Augusta Eagles) got an early start to these activities Tuesday evening at Aquinas, playing scrimmage games in anticipation of the summer league and team camp schedule.

We will be in the gym this summer for many of these activities.  And we will try to keep readers informed with the progress of local players and teams.
