Aquinas Opens Season 1-0

9:30 PM
The team many believe to be the area's best, Aquinas, opened its season with a 73-54 win over Jenkins County.  Unofficially, we recorded 33 points and 14 rebounds for 6'5" junior guard Ahmed Hill.  And junior point guard Michael Scott added 10 assists and 10 steals to go along with his 9 points.  Also, 6'5" sophomore center Shalom Alvarez, the newest addition to the Fighting Irish contributed 14 points in his first outing.  See the highlights below.  Aquinas will visit Evans Friday.

Area basketball fans have high expectations for the Aquinas Fighting Irish.  Junior guards Ahmed Hill and Michael Scott combine to make a very dangerous backcourt.  And the duo led last year's team to the class A state quarterfinals.  We look forward to seeing the Fighting Irish in action for the first time tonight.  And we are curious to see the players who play alongside the well known guards, as the team graduated several key seniors from last season.  Stay tuned for highlights from the boys and the girls games between Aquinas and Jenkins County.
