Praise from Various Sources for Hill (Thoughts from the Weekend)

My partner Will Avery is the only person from our area who has been an NBA "lottery pick."  So I took immediate notice when, after watching clips (see above) from Hill's game against Shelby Friday night, Avery texted this to me Saturday morning:  "Ahmed Hill is a pro and we have not had somebody come through this area like him."

Hill truly is a special player.  He consistently posts exceptional scoring figures while taking a modest amount of shots.  But don't be fooled.  There is nothing passive about this 6'5" junior shooting guard with explosive athletic ability, a sweet stroke, and an ever increasing ability to create off the dribble.  The ability to create space and shoot reliably from anywhere, combined with his raw athleticism, is undoubtedly what has impressed Avery, and most of the nation's top college basketball coaches.  Hill scored 30+ in each of his games last weekend, including a loss to Shelby (see highlights above) and a win over South Pointe.  In fact, I have been told that his two LOWEST point totals this season are 28 and 29!

Hill and his Aquinas teammates face area power Glenn Hills tomorrow in one of the most anticipated match-ups of the season.
