Adair's Last Second Shot Propels Lakeside to Region Victory

Lakeside's Bryce Adair grabbed an offensive rebound and converted a jump hook in the middle of the paint as time expired to give the Panthers of 57-55 region win at home versus Greenbrier Friday.  In the third consecutive region contest, the Panthers' fate was decided on the final possession. After defeating Grovetown on the road and coming up just short at home versus Evans, Adair's heroics sent the Lakeside student section into a frenzy as the Panthers move to 2-1 in region play.

The teams frequently traded leads in the first half.  But Lakeside established a 40-32 lead during the third quarter after an 8-0 Panthers' run.  Greenbrier gradually worked its way back into the game, and Justin Hartfield's three pointer late in the fourth quarter tied the game at 54.  With the score tied at 55, Lakeside inbounded the ball from half court with seconds remaining.  Adair's heroics followed.  The shot and the celebration are best illustrated in the video above.

Lakeside's Sam Powell led all scorers with 15 points.  Connor Sigrist led Greenbrier, whose region record is now 0-3, with 12 points.  Lakeside hosts Grovetown Tuesday, while Greenbrier will travel to Evans.
