Cross Creek's Focus is in the Right Place

A top two finish in the sub region 3B-AAAA regular season standings would place head coach Carlos Carter's Cross Creek Razorbacks one step closer to earning its first state tournament bid in recent memory. But while discussing his team's 60-53 road win versus Richmond Academy during Tuesday's post game show, Carter stated his intention to "take it one game at a time," concentrating on improving during Wednesday's practice and preparing for Friday's showdown at Butler.

Friday's Cross Creek-Butler
Matchup is a Big One
Carter's plans are wise as Friday's game will break the tie for second place between the two teams heading into the final week of regular season play.  The Razorbacks faced a similar task last Friday, traveling to Burke County to face the Bears, who at the time were locked in a three way tie with Cross Creek and Butler.  Cross Creek earned that road win.  As the stakes get higher, Friday's test takes on more meaning.

A win Friday would make Tuesday's home contest versus the sub region's leader Glenn Hills even more interesting.  But Coach Carter is making sure his players and he are focused on the most important game: the next one.  Again, Carter is wise.

Watch the highlights above to see Cross Creek's most recent sub region win (Tuesday), its fifth in the last six outings.
