Lady Wolfpack Hit the Road and Move into First Place Tie

After losing its first sub region 2A-AAAAA contest at home versus Evans, the Lady Wolfpack of Greenbrier have won three consecutive road games (the most recent being Tuesday's win at Evans) to move into a first place tie with the Knights.  Youth has served Greenbrier well as the leading scorers in the past two games - Morgan Taylor and Jennifer McMahan - have been sophomores.

The Lady Wolfpack overcame a 40-36 deficit Tuesday at Evans after another sophomore, point guard Mallory Myers, converted a steal into a 3 point play, giving Greenbrier a 41-40 lead.  Senior Kara Thompson immediately followed with a deep three pointer before the Wolfpack proceeded to avenge its earlier loss to the Knights with a 58-54 road win.  Morgan Taylor led the way with 14 points, and Evans' Jasmine Stone scored 23 in a losing effort.

The win at Evans followed road wins at Grovetown and Lakeside.  Sophomore Jennifer McMahan scored 16 points during the 44-38 win at Lakeside.  Watch the highlights from Greenbrier's recent road wins at Evans (above) and Lakeside (below).
