Westside's Trio Impressive in Win Over Thomson

Westside earned a 60-52 win at home over the Thomson Bulldogs Friday.  With the win, Westside finishes the season at 13-6 overall and 4-2 in region play.  The loss drops Thomson to 10-14 overall and 3-5 in region play.

Thomson took a 27-23 lead into halftime.  The Bulldogs were lead by Aleshia Johnson, who scored 12 of her 17 points in the first half.  The Bulldogs were patient on offense and made the extra pass, which led to high percentage shots.  Thomson also did a good job in the first half of controlling Westside's post players.

But in the second half the trio of Jahmia Bradley (16 points), Azia Gibson (19 points), and Tyesha Ravenell (17 points) was too much for Thomson.  They combined to score 32 points, dominating the offensive boards and playing well in the post.

Thomson did not have an answer for Westside's size and athleticism down low, which proved to be the difference in the game.  Watch the highlights above to see how Westside closed out its regular season with a win over Thomson.
