Faith Baptist and Gray Military Invade The Fall Leaue Saturday!
Led by area standouts Ahmed Hill and Tamyrick Fields of Aquinas and Jayshawn Brooks and Zep Jasper of Laney, the Fall League's Warriors and Clippers are two teams that have generated quite a buzz. These teams bring a combined 7-1 record into Saturday's round of games. But this round may present the toughest test the teams will face.
Saturday's opponents Gray Military of Columbia, South Carolina, and Faith Baptist of Ludowici, Georgia, are "prep school" teams that provide a place for "5th year" high school students who have finished their high school eligibility a place to study and play while they look for the right college to attend. And they are both very good!
I know this because my GAIS Eagles squad have lost all five games against these teams during the past two seasons. Come to Greenbrier High School between the hours of 1 P.M. and 6 P.M. to see some of Augusta's best high school players square off against some of the southeast's best prep school players. Here are the times for these games:
Saturday, September 7 @ Greenbrier High School
1 P.M. - Clippers (3-1) vs Faith Baptist
2 P.M. - Warriors (4-0) vs Gray Military
4 P.M. - Clippers (3-1) vs Gray Military
5 P.M. - Warriors (4-0) vs Faith Baptist
