Evans Lady Knights Hold Off Bradwell to Keep Playoffs Alive

Tuesday evening, after earning the #2 seed in the State Playoffs and a home game, the Evans Lady Knights defeated Bradwell Institute 62-57 in the First Round of the State Playoffs. Led by Jasmine Stone (25 points) and Allysha McFarland (17 points) in their hard earned victory over a tough Bradwell team.

Early in the game, the Knights jumped out to an early 8-3 lead in the first, after a quick six from Stone. The Knights continued to spread their lead through the first, ending the half with a 36-23 lead. Bradwell Institute was not going to go down without a fight, going on an 11-0 run to begin the second half, cutting the Knights lead only 4 with 2:48 left in the third. But the Knights held tough and fought back, with some big time points from Stone, McFarland, and Johnson down the stretch. In the fourth the Knights won the game at the line, hitting 11 of 12 free throws in the final four minutes to take the 62-57 victory over Bradwell and proceed to the second round of the State Playoffs.

Evans will play either White Water or Hardaway in the second round, if Evans were to play Hardaway they would host another home game.
