Record (0-1)
The season opener against the defending ACCE state champions, Covenant Christian Ministries Academy, was an eye opener for the Eagles. CCMA is very big, talented, and deep. After the two teams traded baskets for the first seven minutes of the first quarter, CCMA ended the quarter with a 4-0 run and took a 21-14 lead. After CCMA led by as many as 12 points in the 2nd quarter, Matthew Miller's baseline jump shot in the closing seconds of the 2nd quarter cut the halftime lead to 9 points.
Midway through the 3rd quarter, after one three pointer by Matthew Miller and two three pointers by Austin Crown cut the CCMA lead to 7 points, Eagle turnovers and second shot opportunities for CCMA began to wear the Eagles down and enabled CCMA to pull away to an 84-52 victory. The Eagles left with heads high, knowing they had competed hard and shown signs of potential against a great team with a history of success.
