We are excited to announce that today's live blogging of the third round of the state tournament will include coverage of the girls teams from the greater Augusta, Georgia, area. Though we have long planned to expand our coverage to include the area's girls teams, the decision to start today was made shortly after the Westside Patriots boys team was eliminated from Wednesday's second round by the Crisp County Cougars.
After we congratulated the Patriots, via Twitter, on a fine season, a member of the famous Westside Student Section (#WestsideStudentSection) reminded us that the Lady Patriots are having a great season and are ready to compete against another area team, the storied Hepzibah Rebels, in today's elite eight round.
A wise man once said, "If you know where you want to eventually go, you may as well start there." We are taking that advice and covering the following games today:
