Area Sophomores Head to Atlanta for Special Camp
Three rising sophomores from the greater Augusta area will participate in this weekend's "Super Soph" camp at Woodward Academy in College Park, Georgia. Jashawn Brooks (North Augusta), Dontae Coleman (Butler), and Reggie Reid (Harlem) are 3 of 100 sophomores who have been invited to participate in this three day event.
Reid made a huge impact during his freshman season at Harlem, scoring over 20 points per game and leading the Bulldogs back to respectability in the super competitive subregion 3B-AAA. Brooks and Coleman each played significant roles for North Augusta and Butler's varsity teams, respectively, as freshmen.
All three guards play for the Southern Kings 15 & Under AAU team under coaches Rodney Johnson and Marcus Gibbons. We don't know if Josey's Darius Williams (featured here) will attend the camp. But our readers know we believe he belongs as well. Check out the video above, which highlights some of these three guards' play during the past several months in high school, AAU, and Spring and Summer League competition.
