Lexington Gains First Round Home Court Advantage


Thursday night, Lexington traveled to White Knoll in a 4A Region V matchup that featured a 6-3 Lexington team against White Knoll, sitting at 4-5. With the top two teams in the region getting a home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs, this game was especially important for Lexington. who knocked off White Knoll 66-59.

White Knoll, while not competing for a top 2 spot, came out with a vengeance, letting Lexington know they were not going to roll over and die. The game was back and forth throughout its duration but Lexington's Nygel Gates put the team on his shoulders. Late in the fourth quarter, Gates led a Lexington run the would ensure a White Knoll defeat.

With the win, Lexington would move to 7-3 and ensure themselves a top two spot and a first round home court advantage in the playoffs. White Knoll falls to 4-6 in a tie for fourth in the region

Nygel Gates had 25 for Lexington while Emarius Logan led White Knoll with 27.
